Beezie Madden and Breitling LS. Ph. ©Jumping Valence
The American flag lit up the evening on the first day of Jumping International Valence in Valence, France on Thursday, August 17, 2017 when Beezie Madden won the feature class of the day with Breitling LS.
Madden, continuing her successful summer tour in Europe, made her first competition in France this summer a successful one right out of the gate when she won the 35,000 1.50m speed with Abigail Wexner’s 11-year-old SLS stallion (Quintero x Acord II).
She topped a long-held lead by Italy’s Emanuele Gaudiano, who was in first place with Chalou with a time of 66.10 seconds in the one-round class. Madden was able to top that with her winning time of 65.32 seconds. In 3rd place, Great Britain’s Ben Maher rode his longtime mount Diva II to a clear round in 66.12 seconds, just off the mark from the leading time. Fifteen pairs managed a double clear out of the starting list of 48.
