Billy Twomey and Tin Tin topped the Naylor’s Equestrian Accumulator on Saturday evening during the action-packed the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham, England.
The 1.60m accumulator class saw just seven entries of 29 jump clear, and Twomey was fastest aboard the 13-year-old KWPN (Cavalier x Animo) for Ireland. Belgium’s Francois Mathy Jr. followed in 2nd place with Falco van de Clehoeve, and Jessica Mendoza was 3rd for the home country with Wan Architect.
In the other feature class of the day, the famed Whitaker brothers took 1st and 2nd place in a fun result of the International Show Jumping sponsored by Irish Horse Gateway. Michael Whitaker bested his older brother John in the two-round class, riding Elie van de Kolman to first place in a jumpoff tie of 35.04 seconds over John’s 35.72 seconds with Echo of Light.
The Horse of the Year show concludes today, Sunday with the Leading Show Jumper of the Year Grand Prix. All start lists and results can be found here.
