A new season means a whole new series of winning opportunities for World #1 Scott Brash. Taking full advantage of his first CSI5* event of the new 2014 season, Scott Brash and Bon Ami jumped to victory yet again, to add Basel, Switzerland to their long list of victories together. Scott Brash and Bon Ami won the 1.45 Prize of Thermoplan AG speed class offered at the Longines CSI5* Basel event.
Coming in early on in the class of fifty riders, the competitive combination stopped the clock at 47.34 seconds. Coming in second, Olympic Silver medalist Jur Vrieling and his Olympic team mount VDL Bubalu earned a time of 48.40 seconds while fellow Olympic silver medalist Maikel van der Vleuten aboard VDL Groep Eureka crossed the finish line in 48.80 seconds to finish in third.
Earlier in the afternoon Germany’s David Will won the 1.40 speed class on Pokerface. David blasted onto the scene last season when he won the FEI World Cup Grand Prix at ‘sHertogenbosch. David Will was over two seconds faster than runner-up and fellow German Marcus Ehning on Comme il Faut 5. Following suit was Belgium’s reigning World Champion Philippe Le Jeune riding Leo de Prairial.
