Clinton, the Holsteiner stallion (Corrado I x Masetto) renowned for his breeding and athletic capabilities, has passed away from natural causes at age 24.
Previously ridden by Belgium’s Dirk Demeersman, Clinton competed at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, finishing in an individual 4th place. In 2005 they went to the Continental/Regional Championships in Italy, and finished 2nd in the Grand Prix of Aachen. They last competed together in August, 2006, at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen.
Clinton has amassed over 50 licensed stallions, most notably Cornet Obolensky, Whitaker, Eldorado van de Zeshoek TN, and Zacharov TN. Clinton was also approved by eight breeding associations, and was an invaluable marker in European breeding.
