Belgium’s Constant Van Paesschen took home a win on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the X-Bionic Summer Tour CSI4*. The 1.45m ranking class was a single round competition in the main stadium at X-Bionic Sphere in Samorin, Slovakia, giving the riders a chance to step up their game ahead of the weekend’s classes.
Van Paesschen rode the 10-year-old Holsteiner gelding Compadre van de Helle (Casall x Concerto) to the win, earning 8,118.00 Euros in prize money and recording a healthy margin of time ahead of 2nd placed Eugenio Garza Perez and Bariano for Mexico.
Rebecca McGoldrick and Horatio van Erpekom placed 3rd for Canada, and Great Britain’s Jamie Wingrove was 4th aboard Bart VI. Dominique Hendrickx rounded out the top five with Bacardi les Hauts. The top ten riders all completed their round without fault.
“I am very happy, first of all – in the last show it was very difficult for the horse in the warmup because he is little bit special,” Van Paesschen commented. “But today, he got better, he got his confidence back so I am very pleased with that. To win here, its great to win the big class in any show where you are, and at this show it is just amazing.”
