Germany’s very own Daniel Deusser was acknowledged as the best performing rider of Aachen, taking home the Prize of the Federal Minister of the Interior. This special trophy is awarded to the best jumping rider of the entire show and was presented by the Federal Minister of the Interior Thomas de Maizière.. Daniel picked up a total of 37 points during the week of competition in Aachen, while USA’s top ranked rider Kent Farrington picked up 35 points. Germany’s Marcus Ehning earned 34 points.
About Daniel
Born in Germany, Daniel tried all kinds of sports as a boy and even qualified for the BMX regional championships in his area. Daniel started at Siegfried Herröder’s stable at the age of nineteen years old where he stayed for six months until Siegfried recommended him to Franke Sloothaak who was looking for a new rider. Daniel went on to represent Germany in the Young Rider European Championships in 2002 where his team finished 4th.
It was also through Siegfried Herröder that Daniel would end up at Stal Tops in The Netherlands four years later. In 2007, Daniel finished 2nd in his first FEI World Cup Final with Air Jordan Z. In 2012, Daniel joined the team at Stephex Stables, founded by Belgian rider Stephan Conter. Daniel is reigning 2013/14 FEI Longines World Cup Finals Champion and back-to-back German Champion.
