Daniel Deusser wins German Championship for second year in a row…

The newly crowned World Cup Finals Champion defended his 2013 German Championship title this past weekend in Balve, Germany. This year, Daniel elected to ride the nine year old First Class van Eeckelghem. It was a showdown between rising German superstar Daniel Deusser and very well-established German legend Marcus Ehning, riding his long-time partner Sabrina.

A fence down in the second round meant Deusser would go head-to-head with Germany’s Tim Hoster and Cash del Mar Z in a nail-biting jumping off, to battle it out for the Championship title. Proven under pressure, Deusser produced a quick and lethal jump off round in a time of 39.98 seconds, laying on plenty of pressure for Hoster. Unfortunately, Hoster had a total score of 8 faults in his jump off round, good enough for second place and a Vice-Championship at this year’s German Championships. Fresh off his incredible World Cup Finals win in Lyon, Deusser seems to keep this powerful momentum going with his second German Championship win in a row. Bronze went to Ludger Beerbaum on Carinou with a total penalty score of 5.50.
