Rene Tebbel & Zipper compete at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
René Tebbel’s 2016 Rio Olympic Games partner, the 12-year-old Dutch bred stallion Zipper by Sam R, has changed hands to the United States. Double H Farm is the new owner, and the USA’s Quentin Judge will be the new rider of the stallion.
Zipper jumped an amazing week in Rio De Janeiro this past August, where with Tebbel he finished inside the top 20 Individual placings on multiple clear rounds. The pair represented The Ukraine in competition.
Zipper was formerly owned by The Ukraine’s Oleksandr Onyschenko; back in July, Zipper’s ownership was changed to René Tebbel & Paul Schockemohle along with the rest of the Rio Olympic horses for Ukraine, in order to allow the Ukraine team and horses to compete in the Olympics. Tebbel himself gained the ride on Zipper in June 2016; the stallion was previously ridden by Ferenc Szentirmai and Katharina Offel.
Judge adds Zipper to his string of talented grand prix horses with stellar records. Judge, who rides out of Double H Farm’s Connecticut and Florida locations, has represented the United States in international competition and successfully in Nations Cups around the world.
