Eric Navet & Basimodo ph: Alden Corrigan
On the second day of top level competition at the Sacramento International Horse Show, France’s Eric Navet and the 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Basimodo bested a field of 27 to win the $36,500 Murieta Inn, Spa and Restaurant 1.45m Speed Class.
On Friday, October 6, 2017, Brazil’s Marina Acevedo set the 12-obstacle-course for the one round competition. Navet was tenth in the order of go, setting an unbeatable time of 54.57s to win the class. USA’s Mandy Porter and the 18-year-old Oldenburg stallion Coral Reef Baloufino made a valiant effort to overtake Navet, but ultimately placed finished in 2nd in a time of 55.99s. USA’s Karie Rufer and the 12-year-old DWB stallion Clapton placed 3rd with a final time of 56.05s.
The feature event of the competition, the $100,000 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Sacramento, is set to begin on Saturday at 7.25pm. The class can be watched here https://horsenetwork.com/
