French show jumping will gain a new jewel in 2017, with the announcement of Jumping International CSI5* Versailles from May 4-7, 2017. Organized by Gérard Manzinali, Jean-Maurice Bonneau and Christian Paillot of MG Event team, the exciting new date has been on the FEI calendar since October, but was officially confirmed this week.

The brand new event has been granted CSI5* status, and will feature the €300,000 Grand Prix Rolex du Château du Versailles and €530,000 total in prize money.

The Palace of Versailles is known around the world as one of France’s most elegant landmarks. Twelve miles outside of the French capital of Paris, the Palace of Versailles was built by Louis XII, and its pristine condition that include the famous Hall of Mirrors and Gardens of Versailles, attracts millions of visitors to tour its grounds each year.

Show jumping competition will be held within the courtyard of the Grande Écurie du Roi, a stunning open court in front of the Palace; it is one of France’s most emblematic public spaces.
