There were big celebrations when the defending series champions from France clinched victory in the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup Jumping 2014 competition on home ground at La Baule this afternoon. With just 99 days to go to the opening of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy (FRA) it was the perfect result for the country that will play host to the equestrian world in just over three months’ time.
France now lead the Division 1 Furusiyya Nations Cup standings with 190 points after finishing second in the first Nations Cup event in Lummen, Belgium before winning today’s Furusiyya Nations Cup in La Baule, France. Next week the next chapter of the Furusiyya Nations Cup Division 1 series will take place in Rome, Italy where the beautiful Piazza di Sienna will host a number of countries. These include Great Britain, France, Netherlands, Ukraine and Germany, who will all be aiming to collect necessary points as they have nominated this event for point collection.
St. Gallen, Switzerland will follow Rome, as the fourth event on the Division 1 calendar, taking place May 29th to June 1st, 2014. Teams such as Switzerland, Ukraine, Spain, Belgium and Sweden have nominated this event for point collection. Rotterdam, in the Netherlands will be the fifth event on the calendar, taking place June 18-22nd.
