2012 Olympic Team Silver medalist Marc Houtzager and Stoeterij Sterrehof have announced that the lovely Sterrehof’s Tamino will be retired from the sport of show jumping. The 15 year old KWPN gelding was a important part of the Olympic Silver winning Dutch Team in London three years ago. The same year, the combination went on to win the Gucci Masters Grand Prix in Paris as well as the World Cup Grand Prix at Olympia in London. Having made a number of appearances on the Furusiyya Nations Cup squad for the Netherlands, Sterrehof’s Tamino also rose to lead the WBFSH ranking in 2013.
Sterrehof’s Tamino took a break from the sport following an injury between 2013/2014, but made a hopeful comeback in December 2014.
According to dehoefslag.nl, Marc Houtzager and Stoeterij Sterrehof has decided to retire Sterrehof’s Tamino following the consensus that the horse will not be able to once again perform at the international level.
We wish Sterrehof’s Tamino a happy and healthy retirement.
