At the Angelstone International Show Jumping Tournament in Ontario, Canada, the first leg of the Triple Crown kicked off on Saturday, August 19, 2017 with the $86,600 Kubota Grand Prix.

Five countries were represented by the 21 riders who took to the 1.60m track. Of the initial group, five produced clear rounds to proceed to the jump-off. In producing the sole double clear round of the night, Captain Canada’s Ian Millar secured the victory aboard the 14-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding Dixson (Vigo D’arsouilles x Olisco).

USA’s Leslie Howard sped through the jump off with the nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare Donna Speciale (Cavalier x Concorde), though an unfortunate four faults would leave them in an eventual 2nd place with a time of 35.57s. For 3rd place, Canada’s Keean White, CEO of the Anglestone Tournament, finished on 4 faults with a time of 37.43s. White piloted the 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare Corette (Lupicor x Clinton).
