Injury Sidelines Olivier Philippaerts from FEI European Championships

During a training session at the 2017 Longines FEI European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden on Monday, August 21, 2017, the 24-year-old Belgian rider Olivier Philippaerts sustained a shoulder injury resulting from a fall off the 11-year-old DSP mare H&M Legend of Love (Landzauber x Corgraf).

The injury will prevent him from participating in the championship events taking place from August 23-27.

Belgium’s Jérôme Guery and the 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding Grand Cru van de Rozenberg (Malito de Reve x Heartbreaker) will stand in as reserves to compete alongside teammates Gregory Wathelet, Neils Bruynseels, and Pieter Devos. The first qualifying event for both the team and individual standings will take place on Wednesday, August 23.
