Jur Vrieling had a very successful first day in Mechelen. This afternoon he won the Belgian Open Breed Competition, later in the evening, Vrieling finished second in the Sires of the World competition then to finish today with a win in the 2014 Land Rover Masters. Three combinations made it through to the jump off. It seemed like Simon Delestre an unbeatable time, earning 36:09 seconds on the clock. Riding the stunning Mr. Blue son Zirocco Blue VDL, Vrieling finished with a time of 35.60 seconds. The Dutch World Equestrian Games Team Gold Medalist took home a brand new Land Rover.
“I rode Zirocco Blue VDL bolder today for the first time in the Masters” said Vrieling. “After I had seen first in the jump off, I thought Simon Delestre would be the winner. But Zirocco is such a great horse with all the power and so careful. I also got a good distance after the twists and turns so everything worked.”
