France’s Kevin Staut won the SEK560,000 CSI5* presented by Carpe Diem Beds at the Gothenburg Horse Show on Friday, February 24, 2017 in Sweden.

It was a 1.50m class against the clock designed by the Swedish course designers Peter Lundström and Maria Alfredsson, that saw a field of 32 starters, 13 of whom jumped clear.

The fastest performance came from number 26 to go, Staut and the 11-year-old SBS mare Ayade de Septon HDC (Wandor van de Mispelaere X Belle d’Avril du Mazy) in 63.39 seconds.

The runner-up position went to Holland’s Leopold van Asten aboard the 10-year-old Oldenburg mare VDL Groep Miss Untouchable (Chacco-Blue X Aldatus) in 64.28 seconds.

Italy’s Piergiorgio Bucci filled the last spot in the podium earning 3rd place, riding the 13-year-old Zangersheide stallion Casallo Z (Casall X Carthago Z) in 64.43 seconds.

Germany’s Marcus Ehning and the 12-year-old Westfalian stallion Comme Il Faut (Cornet Obolensky X Ramiro) finished in 4th place in 65.63 seconds, while 5th place went to Spain’s Eduardo Álvarez Aznar and the 12-year-old Selle Français gelding Rokefeller de Pleville Bois Margot (L’Arc de Triomphe X Apache d’Adriers) in 67.26 seconds.
