Swiss charm rubbed off on Laura Kraut in St. Moritz, Switzerland on Saturday when she followed up a Friday win aboard Cavalia with victory in Saturday evening’s Longines Grand Prix of St. Moritz CSI4*.
Kraut rode Old Willow Farm’s Deauville S (Diamant De Semillx x Lux) to the win over a ten-horse jumpoff under the lights at the Longines St. Moritz CSI4* event. The Grand Prix served as the final class of this three day competition that was just as entertaining between classes as during; organizers went full out by presenting a slate of Swiss-themed demonstrations and performances.
Kraut denied the crowd from seeing a Swiss rider take the biggest win of the weekend when she finished just a few hundredths of a second in front of Switzerland’s Niklaus Rutschi and Windsor XV in the jumpoff.
Kamal Abdullah Bahamdan and Noblesse des Tesse of Saudi Arabia were 3rd with a clear and quick round. Eight riders in total enjoyed a double clear day.
Kraut has had the ride on Deauville S since March of this year, and having already won a high profile CSI5* speed class at Falsterbo in July, she had confidence to go for the win with the talented gelding.
