Great Britain’s Laura Renwick enjoyed a banner day at the Vilamoura Champions Tour CSI2* on Thursday, October 8th. The popular fall tour on the southern coast of Portugal runs from September 24th – October 18th.
Renwick did better than just winning the day’s Longines’s ranking class 1.45m CSI2* speed, she also took 2nd place in a class split into part A and B due to high entries. Aboard Rembrandt Blue, a French bred 10-year-old grey gelding, Renwick recorded the winning time of 62.90 seconds, topping only herself aboard Bingtang II in 63.49 seconds.
Marc Houtzager of Holland finished 3rd with Sterrehof’s Bylou, and his countryman Sanne Thijssen was 4th with Ulena. Young rider Emily Moffitt of the USA finished an impressive 5th with Zagahorn.
Also on Thursday, Renwick won the 1.35m CSI2* speed class with Roller Coaster, a 14-year-old Irish Sport Horse (High Roller x First Consul), over a massive entry list of over 90 horse and rider pairs.
