Lillie Keenan’s stunning 12-year-old Brandenburg gelding Pumped Up Kicks was been sold to junior rider Jennifer Gates. Having been with Keenan for almost three years, it looks as though the stunning grey gelding will now offer Gates the experience to potentially follow in Keenan’s steps and move through the ranks quickly.
Keenan’s Chansonette Farms purchased the gelding at the end of 2012 season for the Junior level but, the pair moved quickly up the ranks, earning Keenan’s Grand Prix debut in the 2013 $125,000 Purina Animal Nutrition Grand Prix at HITS Saugerties. The following year, the pair represented the United States as the anchor combination for the Nations Cup team in Bratislava, Slovakia, in August 2014.
“I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to ride such an incredible horse” said Gates. “Lillie is a good friend of mine and mentioned that she felt he would be well suited to me. I am excited to have him to help build my confidence at the bigger jumps. He is incredibly brave and I feel so lucky to have him!”
