Olympic veteran Luciana Diniz of Portugal is recovering from an injury that was recently diagnosed as a fractured foot. Sustained during the LGCT Grand Prix of Vienna on September 17th when Diniz parted ways from her horse Lennox, the injury was initially thought to be a twisted ankle. Diniz has since been taking a break from riding while she heals, and hopes to be back in the saddle in three weeks time.
She has been using her time out of the saddle to work on various projects, including writing a book, working on her Butterfly Foundation, and launching a worldwide platform for athletes.
“Nothing is by chance!” says the optimistic rider who shares a special connection with her horses. If all goes well, Diniz will be back in the competition ring in time for November’s Longines Global Champions Tour of Doha.
