At the third annual Riesenbeck International Indoors in Germany, spectators got to say farewell to the 18-year-old, Dutch Warmblood, stallion Chaman (Baloubet Du Rouet x I Love You), who was retired immediately prior to the opening round of competition on Thursday, September 28, 2017.

The stallion shared a partnership with Germany’s Ludger Beerbaum for seven years, last competing together at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Valkenswaard CSI5* on August, 11, 2017. The duo made multiple appearances at World Cup events and amassed a career’s worth of victories at the sport’s most competitive venues.

“He will be 19-years-old in three months, so it’s a great opportunity to say goodbye to him at home,” said Beerbaum. Chaman will now be on stallion duties at the Ludger Beerbaum Stables in Hürstel, Germany.
