Germany’s very own Marco Kutscher won the first major CSI5* title at Indoor Brabant in s’Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. Taking the win of the first major class on this week’s schedule, Kutscher took the VDL Groep Prijs 1.55 competition with his long time partner Cornet’s Cristallo.
A list of 39 top combinations attempted the course but only fourteen riders managed to jump clear and qualify for the jump off. First to take the lead was Portugal’s Luciana Diniz and her longtime partner and very popular stallion Winningmood who stopped the clock in 60.58 seconds. Diniz’s time was bettered by Belgium’s Pieter Devos and Candy crossing the finish line with a time of 59.47 seconds
Germany’s Marco Kutscher and Cornet’s Cristallo sealed the deal, towards the end of the class. Crossing the finish line a second ahead of Devos, in a time of 59.47 seconds to take the first major title of the CSI5* event at Indoor Brabant. The best performing Dutch rider would be the young and talented Maikel Van Der Vleuten and his World Equestrian Games mount VDL Groep Verdi NOP SFN, who took 4th place.
