The bright pink arena wrapping can only mean that CSI5* Dinard is in full swing on the gorgeous Brittany coast in France.

On Friday, July 28, 2017, the audience cheered on one of their own to victory in the Suez Award CSI5*, a single round 1.55m speed won by Patrice Delaveau & Aquila HDC.

The French rider and Hara des Coudrettes’ 12-year-old KWPN gelding (Ovidus x Bollyvorm’s Lauriston) took home 15,550 Euros in prize money for their effort.

“I am very happy, my horse jumped super, and he liked the course, Delaveau commented. “He is used to compete in CSI5* every weekend, he just completed a difficult tour, he is relieved to be back on a large grass arena, he had a good time, and me too.”

Also of France, the surprise of the day came in the 2nd placeing of Thierry Rozier, who, after 15 years away from this level of competition, completed the course in a time of 75.76 with his student Electra Niarchos’ mare, Venezia d’Ecaussinnes

“I am really happy, super motivated by the whole atmosphere, and my brother Philippe’s career,” Thierry said. “I feel like crazy at the moment, I am really keen about competing. Actually I am impressed myself by this result, especially with this mare who was competing in the amateur classes last year. Since the beginning of the season, I did everything possible to be selected for this show in Dinard. I asked Philippe Guerdat to put me on the list if he could, and he said he would select me because of my results.”

Portugal’s Luciana Diniz placed 3rd with Lennox, and Beezie Madden of the USA placed 4th aboard Breitling LS.
