By now word has spread like wildfire that it was Kent Farrington who claimed victory in the 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva in Geneva, Switzerland on Sunday, December, 10, 2017. But did you take notice of the 11th place finisher, who completed the course on a nearly foot perfect track, with just the second to last fence ticked out of the cups?
It was none other than Germany’s Michael Jung, the three day eventing double Olympic gold medalist, and current Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing champion, who certainly needs no introduction in eventing circles. Three day eventing’s most decorated rider, ever, is known to dabble in show jumping during the winter months when his chosen discipline slows down. On Sunday, he completed his biggest show jumping competition yet, aboard show jumper fischerSolution, making it clear that this second discipline comes just as naturally, even when the fences are at maximum height:
