On Friday, January 26, 2018, the third day of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping – North American League Guadalajara, Brazil’s Rodrigo Lambre and Chacciama (Chacco-Blue x Andiamo Z) took home top honors in the 1.40m Banorte Cup. Lambre and the 11-year-old KWPN gelding Coleman (Kitile Horta x Indorado) won Thursday’s 1.50m Tequila Reserva De La Familia Cup Longines FEI World Cup Qualifier.
Course designer Guilherme Jorge set a 12-obstacle-track for the field of 38 horse and rider combinations. Ten rode to qualify for the jump off, six of which posted clear rounds. Lambre and the 11-year-old Oldenburg mare crossed the timers in a speedy 33.61s for 1st place.
For 2nd place, Colombia’s John Perez piloted the 17-year-old KWPN mare Utopia (Ircolando x Notaris) to a runner up time of 34.53s.
Third place went to Mexico’s Francisco Pasquel & Manzano, the ten-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding by Numero Uno and Artos Z. They finished in 35.41s.
Lambre’s second mount in the jump off, the 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding Chapilot (Chacco-Blue x Pilot), finished on four faults in 32.50s for 7th place.
The show jumping action heats up on Saturday, highlighting in the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping Guadalajara, presented by Scappino, at 2:00 p.m. CST.
