This month’s Longines Ranking is out and for the ninth month in a row, Great Britain’s Scott Brash remains World number one with 3374 points. Germany’s Ludger Beerbaum takes over the World No.2 position with 2824 points after a number of top-podium finishes in July including fourth place in the Grand Prix of Chantilly. The living-legend also finished third in the Grand Prix of Valkenswaard last week, of which those points have not counted towards his current points. Great Britain’s Ben Maher dropped down to third place with 2805 points. Germany’s Marcus Ehning remains in fourth position while USA’s Kent Farrington has moved up to World No.5 after a strong month of July of results for the top-ranked American rider.
France and Germany are now neck-and-neck with representation in the World’s Top 10, with three riders each. Ludger Beerbaum, Marcus Ehning and Daniel Deusser represent Germany’s top-ranked riders while Kevin Staut, Patrice Delaveau and Penelope Leprevost make up France’s representation in the World’s Top 10. Penelope Leprevost takes over the World’s Top-ranked Lady Rider title from America’s Beezie Madden, as France’s First lady sits in ninth position on the Longines World Rankings. Penelope acquired valuable points when Team France won the Furusiyya Nations Cup of Rotterdam proving once again how helpful the Furusiyya Nations Cup series can be for a riders World Rankings.
McLain Ward has moved up considerably in the Top 20 after a strong summer at Spruce Meadows and a double clear performance at the Furusiyya Nations Cup of Hickstead, where Team USA won the prestigious Nations Cup title to earn a valuable 130 points per rider.
