Hello Guv’Nor, the 12-year-old Belgian warmblood gelding (Diamont de Semilly x Papillon Rouge Normandie) ridden to international success by Olympic veteran and former World No. 1 Scott Brash of Great Britain, has been sold to the USA’s Emma Heise.
Brash began competing Hello Guv’Nor in 2014, when the gelding was a 9-year-old. Owned by Brash’s sponsors Lord & Lady Harris & Lord & Lady Kirkham, Hello Guv’Nor sat out most of the 2015 season, and emerged to really come into his own during the 2016 season.
In August, Brash and Hello Guv’Nor picked up a CSI5* win at the Longines St. Moritz in Switzerland, but it was the month prior when they notched their most impressive performance together: jumping double clear in the CHIO Aachen Nations Cup in Aachen, Germany. In their last competition appearance together on December 19, 2016, Brash and Hello Guv’Nor placed 3rd in the €110,000 Olympia Grand Prix at the London International Horse Show.
Heise is one of the United States’ up and coming stars; since 2015 she has been a formidable competitor on Europe’s CSI2* circuit, with a long string of wins at some of the world’s top venues. Originally from Illinois, the 17-year-old rider trains with Laura Kraut and Nick Skelton, and is based in Wellington, Florida for the winter season.
“It’s very exciting because he is my first, top horse,” commented Heise. “We’re going to start out slow, and build up our confidence together.”
Heise hopes to enter Hello Guv’Nor in the Global Champions League events this spring and summer. Last week, the Global Champions League was granted official FEI status, and Heise, who is a member of the Rome Gladiators team, is looking forward to the GCL season.
