ESNZ Jumping has completed the following selection review of the horse/rider combinations for the 2014. Ashland Stables’ Sharn Wordley has been selected for the New Zealand World Equestrian Games Jumping Squad aboard the lovely Derly Chin de Muze, a mare that represented Canada at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Currently competing at the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, Sharn finished fourth in the CSIO4* Grand Prix on Sunday, presented by Wellington Equestrian Realty. Samantha McIntosh and Lakeridge Equestrian’s Estina have also been selected for the Squad.
2012 World Equestrian Games competitor Katie McVean has also been selected for the New Zealand Squad aboard Dunstan Springfield, owned by Sarah Milne and Chele Clarkin, however, it looks as though McVean might have difficulty making it to this year’s World Equestrian Games with the expectations of her first child with fiance Jackson Laurie. Currently pregnant with her first child, McVean expressed doubts on Facebook as to whether she will make it back to competition before the start of WEG in August of this year.
