A unique format took center stage on Wednesday, December 28, 2017 at Jumping Mechelen CSI5* in the Land Rover Masters class.
Five Belgian top riders competed against five international riders over four rounds in knockout format. Three riders qualified for the fourth jump-off, which was ridden on time. Belgium’s Jérôme Guéry rode Garfield the Tiji des Templiers to a clear round in 30.00 sec. and Olivier Philippaerts made one jumping mistake with Extra.
At the end of four rounds, Simon Delestre of France was the only clear with Gain Line, an 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Stolzenberg x Raphael) in a fast 28.73 seconds. He earned a brand new Land Rover all-terrain vehicle as his victory prize.
