Todd Minikus claimed a $3,000 bonus for wearing SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves on his way to victory in the $34,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Series Round III held Thursday, January 23, at the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL.

From a starting field of 92 entries, a total of 25 clear rounds were produced over the first-round track set by Guilherme Jorge of Brazil. Making for an exciting jump-off, the lead changed hands several times before a time of 40.34 seconds was posted by Minikus riding Quality Girl. Nine more would challenge, including Minikus on a second mount, Uraguay, but his time with Quality Girl held up for the win.

A huge fan of SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves, Minikus was rewarded for his loyalty with a bonus of $3,000 as part of the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” incentive promotion.

“I love these gloves, especially since the weather has been a little cool here the last couple of days!” said Minikus, who has been a frequent winner in the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion, most recently claiming a $3,000 bonus at the 2013 Alltech National Horse Show at the end of October. “Everyone knows how I feel about the SSG Gloves incentive and wearing the gloves from last year and through indoors and on and on and on. I just think it’s awesome!”

Minikus puts his SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves to work, and never competes without them.

“They get used!” insisted Minikus. “They do everything from low schooling jumper to the grand prix, and mucking stalls at home and driving the tractor, too. They do everything!”

SSG Gloves will continue to offer a $3,000 bonus in each of the weekly WEF Challenge Cup Series events, as well as a $1,000 bonus in the High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic and the High Junior Jumper Classic competitions. If the winning rider in any of these three competitions is wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style gloves with the SSG horse head logo clearly visible, they will be presented with bonus money during the awards presentation. A total of $60,000 in bonus money is on offer from SSG Gloves at the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival.

SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations, including Tackeria, as well as on-site at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at various retailers including Running Fox, Jods, and Beval Saddlery.
