Let’s hear three cheers for Japanese eventer, Yoshiaki Oiwa, for taking home his fifth and sixth Asian Games medals this week – four of which are gold, by the way.
Currently ranked 58th on the FEI Eventing World Athlete Rankings, the Germany -based eventer rode the 12-year-old KPWN gelding, Bart L JRA, to clinch the title of Asian Games Champion.
Held at the Jakarta International Equestrian Park in Jakarta, Indonesia, Yoskiaki set his sights on winning both the individual and team titles – and that’s exactly what he did.
His impressive performance was not only a big feat for Japanese Eventing, but also makes Yoskiaki one step closer in achieving his ultimate goal – winning an Olympic medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in his home country of Japan.
Here’s to Yoshiaki – the newly crowned Asian Games Champion!
