Brian Moggre Voted NoelleFloyd.com 2018 Equitation Rider of the Year

Brian Moggre, 17, will never forget the success of his fall season on the equitation circuit. He earned his first major equitation win at the Dover Saddlery/USEF Hunter Seat Medal Finals, finished second at the ASPCA Maclay National Championship, and was third at the Washington International Horse Show Junior Equitation Finals.

Quick to give credit where credit it due, Brian is grateful to the owners and says he was beyond well-mounted this year (all three major equitation results were achieved riding Donald Stewart's Efendi), but his trainer Mike McCormick attributes Brian's triumphs to more than just good horses.

"I’ll be the first one to tell you that his work ethic is what is responsible for his success," Mike said. "He loves horses, he loves to ride, and it shows up. The results are right there for him. It has been a really, really wonderful year."

Ever the upbeat and pleasant person to chat with, Brian is over the moon to be voted Equitation Rider of the Year by Noëlle Floyd readers. "Knowing how much of a fan base Noëlle Floyd has, to top the field of riders that were nominated is really cool. It puts a little confidence in myself having the support. That means a lot," he said.

Brian looks forward to competing in multiple arenas during the 2019 season. He'll focus heavily on his growing string of jumpers but also hopes to have another strong tour of the equitation rings and give his junior career a grand send-off.
